The Region
Manuel and his family came to Costa Rica in 2002 to realize a lifelong dream and today it is their pleasure and honor to be able to share it with you!
Manuel lives on the Big Tree Wildlife Refuge property, with his 2 daughters Maya-Soleil and Sara-Star. The property contains two villas, Villa Macaw and Villa Toucan. Rentals are available anywhere from 1 room, to 1 house or the entire property, which can house up to 14 guests. The family resides in Villa Macaw, only a short distance from Villa Toucan, but far enough to offer you complete privacy if you are renting this villa.
Manuel always enjoys helping guests with questions, tour bookings, activities, visits on the trails throughout the property and sharing experiences about life in the jungle and Costa Rica!

Enjoy a variety of beaches, all nearby Big Tree Wildlife Refuge.
Many beaches are secluded and offer privacy.
The canopy tour consists of 10 aerial platforms and 12 ground platforms, with a total of 2,760 meters of cable. Once you reach the seventh platform, you will not touch the ground again until the end of the route, where you will cross and watch the jungle as birds do. Cables are of the latest technology with the quality of being completely silent, thus avoid noise pollution in the jungle.
Thanks to our rich biodiversity, and to our specialized bird watching guides who find delight in pointing out and sharing their knowledge on the various bird species of the area, this is definitely a superb bird watching tour!
Toucan sightings are available all throughout the day. Just look around you!
